Forza Motorsport has started pre-loading

Recently, Turn 10 Studios announced on their official website that “Forza Motorsport” commenced pre-loading on consoles and the Microsoft Store (Windows 10 & 11) as of September 19th. Steam users, however, will need to exercise patience for their pre-loading opportunity. Depending on the platform, the downloaded data sizes vary considerably.

Among the platforms, the Xbox Series X version commands the most considerable storage space, weighing in at 133GB. In contrast, the Xbox Series S version, while being the smallest, still requires a substantial 100GB. On the PC front, the Microsoft Store version demands a download of 119GB. The Steam version’s download size stands at 108GB, yet its installation file size is nearly on par with the Microsoft Store version, reaching 118GB.

Whether compared to the rumored “Forza Horizon 5” or PlayStation’s “Gran Turismo 7,” the storage requirement for “Forza Motorsport” is undeniably prodigious, posing a significant challenge to device storage capacities.

However, such vast storage requisites are redeemed by the exquisite graphics it delivers. “Forza Motorsport” on Xbox Series X will offer a 4K@60fps performance mode, a ray-tracing performance mode at 4K@60fps with partial ray tracing, and a quality mode at 4K@30fps with full ray-traced reflections and ambient occlusion. Moreover, in an interview with Digital Foundry, Turn 10 Studios pledged to introduce an option for full global illumination via ray tracing, further enhancing the game’s visual allure.

“Forza Motorsport” is set to launch on console and PC platforms on October 11th, with those who’ve pre-ordered the premium edition gaining early access five days in advance.
