EKWB launched special water block for AM5 platform

EKWB launches EK-Quantum Velocity² DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB – AM5 Nickel + Plexi water block. As can be seen from the name, the water block is specially designed for the AM5 platform and integrates a water pump and a water tank.

The size of the water block is 89x59x132mm, with six ports, two of which are used to inject water cooling liquid, the liquid storage volume is 66ml, 14 LED lamp beads are installed, and the D-RGB wire is 50cm long. EK-Quantum Velocity² DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB head uses a DDC water pump and uses a SATA interface for the power supply.

At present, water pumps in the split water cooling market are mainly divided into two types: DDC and D5. DDC has the advantages of low price, large lift, and small volume. The main disadvantages are small flow and high noise. Some DDCs also support PMW speed regulation. Generally speaking, although the volume of the D5 water pump is relatively large, it has a large flow rate and a low voice, which is more suitable for users who pursue user experience.

The water block has a compact design and is suitable for small cases. The base is designed with pure copper nickel plating, the water tank in the middle part is made of acrylic, and the top is a DDC water pump covered with nickel-plated copper. EK-Quantum Velocity² DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB – AM5 is optimized for the small chip design of Ryzen 7000 series processors, which can improve heat dissipation efficiency.

The block uses the ExactMount mounting system, which has been redesigned, and also utilizes the backplate that comes with the AM5 platform motherboard, making the entire installation process easier.
The product is currently on pre-sale, priced at $349.99, and is expected to ship in late January 2023.
