MSI Raider GE78HX laptop equipped with Intel Core i9-13980HX appeared in Geekbench

Intel’s new generation of flagship mobile processor Core i9-13980HX has been exposed before. Built on the basis of the desktop platform Raptor Lake-S chip and changed to the BGA package, it has 24 cores (8P-Core+16E-Core) and 32 threads, the turbo frequency can reach up to 5.6 GHz and supports DDR5-5600 / DDR4-3200 memory. It is Intel’s most powerful mobile processor to date.

Recently, MSI’s next-generation Raider GE78HX gaming laptop appeared in the Geekbench benchmark. This laptop is equipped with the Core i9-13980HX, with a maximum operating frequency of 5.56 GHz and an average frequency of 5.48 GHz. Its single-core score is 2097 points, and its multi-core score is 22062 points, which is only 4% slower than AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (single-core 2192/multi-core 22971).

This isn’t the first time the Core i9-13980HX has appeared on Geekbench benchmarks. Some time ago, a ROG STRIX G634JZ gaming laptop from ASUS also conducted the same test. The single-core score was 1970 points, and the multi-core score was 20826 points, which is slightly lower than MSI’s score this time.

The CES 2023 exhibition will come next week, and Intel is expected to release the 13th generation Core mobile processor.
