As the flagship processor of the 13th generation, the performance of the Core i9-13900K
has not disappointed everyone, however, the heat generation of this processor and the power supply requirements for the motherboard is relatively high, and the heat dissipation capacity of the CPU radiator and the power supply of the motherboard is increased accordingly. EKWB, a well-known PC water cooling manufacturer from Slovenia, recently announced
the launch of the EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Maximus Z790 Hero D-RGB water block. From the naming, it can be seen that the water block is designed for the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard.
The base part of the cold monoblock uses a nickel-plated copper cold plate, and the top is made of acrylic material. The size is 133×120.5x32mm. It is equipped with a 3-pin D-RGB interface with a cable length of 500mm. It is compatible with ASUS Aura Sync RGB control software. The water cooling monoblock follows the EK-Matrix7 standard, which specifies the size of the water cooling product, including the interface position and spacing, making the assembly of the split water cooling system easier and more intuitive.
The cold head adopts a high-flow design, which can be used in systems with short water pump heads or low water pump speed settings. Because it is customized for the motherboard, the water cooling head can not only dissipate heat for the CPU but also dissipate heat for the power supply area. The motherboard heat dissipation armor needs to be removed before installation. For the CPU, EK officially recommends using the included EK-TIM Ectotherm thermal grease.
Although EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Maximus Z790 Hero D-RGB is designed for ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard and 13th generation Core processor, it is also compatible with ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard and 12th generation Core processor.
EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Maximus Z790 Hero D-RGB is currently available for pre-sale at a price of $249.99 and EK says the product will be shipped in late December 2022.
