CPU-Z v2.06 releases: Support new products such as RTX 4070/4060 Ti and RX 7600

As the most commonly utilized CPU detection software, CPU-Z is capable not only of accumulating data pertaining to the processor name, number, codename, process, and cache but also of real-time monitoring of the internal frequency and memory frequency of each core. Additionally, it collects data on the motherboard and chipset, memory type, size, timing, and module specifications (SPD).

CPU-Z 2.03.1

Within the recently released CPU-Z version 2.06, support has been expanded to include Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics card, and several processors in the Ryzen 7045HX series. Moreover, for the first time, this iteration has updated support for AMD’s ‘Storm Peak’ platform. Preliminary support signifies that architectural information can be identified, but specific model details remain elusive.

As per the remarks made two months ago by Yu Hsuan Lin, General Manager of ASUS Computer, AMD plans to launch the next-generation Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors, codenamed ‘Storm Peak’, and the corresponding TR5 platform in the second half of 2023. This will usher in support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory.

AMD may opt for an approach similar to Intel’s, bifurcating the new generation of Ryzen Threadripper processors into two sub-series targeting High-End Desktop (HEDT) and workstations respectively. The former would offer only quad-channel DDR5, while the latter would provide octa-channel DDR5, and the number of PCIe channels would also double. AMD may well follow its traditional naming scheme, distinguishing the two with the ‘Pro’ prefix.
