Apple unveils Studio Display: 27-inch 5K screen, equipped with A13 bionic chip

On March 8, the long-awaited Apple Spring Conference finally came. Apple has launched a number of new products in one go, including a new generation of iPhone SE, iPad Air 6, Mac Studio workstation host, the powerful M1 Ultra chip, and more. In addition, Apple also brought a very distinctive high-end display – Studio Display, Apple also said that it is a perfect match with the Mac Studio mainframe released with it.

It is understood that Studio Display is a 27-inch 5K screen that supports 600 nits of brightness, 1 billion colors, a P3 wide color gamut, and an original color display. The screen also brings a 12MP Ultra-Wide camera with Center Stage and a high-fidelity six-speaker sound system with spatial audio. Studio Display is equipped with the Center Stage function, which means that if you walk back and forth in front of the screen during a video call, the Center Stage function will keep you in the middle of the screen. In addition, this feature can also be used with video conferencing apps.

The most powerful part of Apple’s display is that it has a built-in A13 Bionic chip that is the same as the iPhone 11 series. With it, Studio Display can do things like spatial audio, and “Hey Siri” wake-up. This screen also brings a 6-speaker system that supports spatial audio for music and video with Dolby Atmos, creating a truly cinematic viewing experience. In addition, there is a 3-microphone array, combined with directional beamforming technology, which can make the audience less disturbed by noise.

In terms of interfaces, Studio Display provides 3 USB-C interfaces and 1 Thunderbolt interface, which can connect Studio Display to Mac with a single cable, and can quickly charge compatible Mac notebooks and 14-inch MacBook Pros. In terms of price, Studio Display offers a standard version and a nano-textured glass version. The standard version is priced at $1599, and the nano-textured glass version is priced at $1899.
