Apple may provide 2TB storage for the iPhone 15 Pro series

At present, Apple offers up to 1TB of optional storage space on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, for users engaged in the intensive utilization of smartphones, such configurations may prove insufficient, particularly if they frequently use the iPhone to record videos, resulting in rapid consumption of storage space. Perhaps bearing this in mind, Apple seems intent on providing increased storage capacities with the forthcoming generation of devices, set to launch later this year.

According to a report by Wccftech, Apple may offer 2TB storage options on the high-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, and possibly 1TB storage options on the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. For content creators and photographers who have shifted much of their work to iPhones, these new products are likely to possess heightened appeal.

Apple is expected to continue adhering to the NVMe standard for storage, though the introduction of 2TB storage space could signify a potential shift towards QLC NAND flash memory. With the advent of flash chip downgrades and growing consumer demands for higher storage expansion, QLC NAND flash memory has already become widely prevalent on PCs. Though less durable than MLC and TLC, it poses little concern for ordinary users.

Of course, with the augmentation of storage space comes an accompanying increase in price. Rumors suggest that the starting prices for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will rise by $100. Thus, customers intending to purchase this year’s upgraded models, especially those with higher storage capacities, may find themselves parting with a substantial sum of money.
