AMD releases Radeon Pro V620 for cloud gaming and machine learning

AMD today released a product based on the RDNA 2 architecture GPU and announced on its official blog the new Radeon Pro V620, which provides graphics performance for today’s demanding cloud workloads, including cloud gaming, intensive 3D workloads, and cloud office, machine learning, etc.

According to AMD’s official parameters, Radeon Pro V620 has 72 CU computing units, that is 4608 stream processors, indicating that it uses a GPU with the same specifications as the consumer Radeon RX 6800 XT. The configured video memory is 32GB GDDR6, the capacity has doubled, and the speed is the same as 16 Gbps, providing 512 GB/s video memory bandwidth. Radeon Pro V620 is connected through PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, TDP is 300W, but adopts passive heat dissipation structure, and the air duct of the server assists in heat dissipation.

With the launch of the Radeon Pro V620, AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture GPU also has three complete series of products, namely the Radeon RX 6000 series for games and light creation, the Radeon Pro W6000 series for workstations and content creation, and Radeon Pro V series for cloud services. Radeon Pro V620 should not be AMD’s only product for cloud services, and it is expected that models for different grades will be launched next.

Nvidia has previously provided products with GeForce RTX 3080 specifications for cloud gaming services. Radeon Pro V620 will also have a similar effect, which means that the competition between the two parties has spread to cloud services. According to AMD, Radeon Pro V620 is already available, but it will not be retail. Customers need to contact AMD directly to purchase.
