AIBs focus on the new Radeon RX 6650/6750/6950 XT and stop making 6600/6700/6900 XT cards

AMD is about to launch the Radeon RX 6×50 XT series graphics cards on the desktop platform, and the rumored release time is May 10. These RDNA 2 Refresh include Radeon RX 6950 XT/RX 6750 XT/RX 6650 XT, corresponding to Navi 21, Navi 22, and Navi 23, respectively, and are said to be equipped with higher-speed video memory.

According to industry sources, AMD’s AIB manufacturers will stop producing the Radeon RX 6900 XT/RX 6700 XT/RX 6600 XT, and the newly released Radeon RX 6950 XT/RX 6750 XT/RX 6650 XT will take its place. This means that AMD is not positioning the Radeon RX 6×50 XT series higher, only replacing the existing product with slightly improved specifications.

Compared with more than a year in the past, the supply situation of the entire Radeon RX 6000 series is much better now, and it is expected that it will not take too long for the corresponding model to be fully replaced by the Radeon RX 6×50 XT series. According to AMD’s thinking, the new and old products should have the same MSRP, not increase the price.

Not all the details of the Radeon RX 6×50 XT series have been confirmed yet, even the rumored 18 Gbps video memory may not be accurate. There may be differences between different models. According to the current exposure of the PowerColor Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound, the video memory rate seems to be 17.5 Gbps. In addition, the Radeon RX 6×50 XT series may have a higher clock and slightly higher power consumption.
