Sony launches a limited edition bundle for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” on PlayStation 5

Sony has announced the imminent launch of a limited edition bundle for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” on PlayStation 5. The bundle includes a limited-edition console and DualSense wireless controller, a download redemption code for the game, and pre-order bonus items. The product will hit the shelves on September 1, 2023, ahead of the game’s release date. Reservations can be made starting July 28, though the price remains under wraps.

Sony asserts that, much like the “Final Fantasy 16” limited edition, the casing and DualSense wireless controller from “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” limited edition bundle can be purchased separately. This means that existing PlayStation 5 owners can acquire these peripherals, thus instantaneously transforming their setup into a “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” theme.

The design of the “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” limited edition is inspired by the symbiote featured in the game. Jacinda Chew, the senior art director, shared her design concept, stating, “While the design is inspired by the game’s symbiote, you can still see some red beneath the tendrils, symbolizing the various ways players will experience the takeover by the Venom symbiote in ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.’ Both internally and externally, we continue to advance the main storyline, but the outcome isn’t always clear-cut.”

“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is set to release on October 20, 2023, making its debut on the PlayStation 5 platform. It is the sequel to “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” which was released in 2018. Sony states that the development team spent five years crafting “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” with specific enhancements made for the PlayStation 5 to achieve superior visual and audio effects. By leveraging Tempest 3D Audiotech, players can accurately pinpoint bio-electricity, enemy attacks, and the sounds of New York traffic, rendering a more immersive gaming experience.
