Sony has announced impending adjustments to the PlayStation Plus membership costs

Last year, Sony unveiled an upgraded tiered subscription service codenamed “Spartacus,” which seamlessly merged PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now. While retaining the PlayStation Plus branding, it gradually phased out the PlayStation Now moniker. This service’s pinnacle offering is the Premium tier, which provides users with the privilege of game streaming, access to a library of classic titles, and limited-time game trials.

Sony has announced impending adjustments to the PlayStation Plus membership costs, set to commence on September 6, 2023. The amendments primarily impact the 12-month subscription fees for the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers. However, the one-month and three-month subscriptions remain attractively priced. The detailed pricing is as follows:

PlayStation Plus Essential 12-month Subscription – $79.99 / €71.99 / £59.99

PlayStation Plus Extra 12-month Subscription – $134.99 / €125.99 / £99.99

PlayStation Plus Premium 12-month Subscription – $159.99 / €151.99 / £119.99

For context, the current pricing for the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers roughly stands at $60, $100, and $120, respectively. For existing members who have availed of the 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription, these pricing modifications will only come into effect on or after their renewal date of November 6, 2023.

Furthermore, this year, Sony has augmented the offerings of the Premium subscription level, piloting cloud streaming for PlayStation 5 games. This includes the PS Plus game catalog, trial games, and supported digital PlayStation 5 titles. Subscribers of the PlayStation Plus Premium service can now delve directly into their games without the prerequisite of downloading them to their console.
