SK hynix Platinum P41 series is on sale

As early as the beginning of this year, SK hynix said it would launch the Platinum P41 series of SSDs. This is SK hynix’s fastest M.2 NVMe SSD, and its first consumer-grade SSD with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, using the M.2 2280 specification. Although SK hynix is the world’s top three NAND flash memory manufacturer, it has always produced a small number and number of storage products from home.

According to SK hynix, the Platinum P41 series SSD uses 176-layer stacked 3D NAND flash memory, matched with the main control chip codenamed “Aries” by SK hynix, and is equipped with DDR4 DRAM cache. Its maximum sequential read and write speeds are 7000 MB/s and 6500 MB/s respectively, random read is 1400K IOPS, random write is 1300K IOPS, and TBW can reach up to 1200.

In addition, the Platinum P41 series SSD has also undergone 1000 hours of high temperature operating life test (HTOL) to ensure its reliability, and the MTBF has also reached 1.5 million hours. In terms of parameters, the Platinum P41 series SSD is a very good product. SK Hynix hopes to enter PCIe 4.0 SSD to compete with high-end products such as Samsung’s 980 Pro.

We are delighted to introduce the Platinum P41, the first of our Platinum series of SSDs to drive the strongest PCIe Gen4 bandwidth experience for computing needs. P41 also inherits the power efficiency and stability of our existing lineup, keeping with SK hynix’s rich history of delivering excellent solutions for consumer electronics,” Dae Jung Cho, Head of SSD Marketing at SK hynix, said.

SK hynix offers three capacities of 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB for the Platinum P41 series SSD, and the prices are $104.99, $149.99, and $259.99. All have a five-year warranty.
