AMD CEO hints at next-gen Ryzen and Radeon products in Computex 2022 keynote

COMPUTEX Taipei has already issued an announcement confirming that AMD CEO Dr. LiSa Su will give a keynote speech on the COMPUTEX online platform at 2 pm on Monday, May 23rd. The previously announced theme is “AMD Advancing the High-Performance Computing Experience“, AMD will share how to join hands with a wide range of industry system partners to accelerate the innovation of high-performance computing.

Recently, AMD updated the information on the COMPUTEX exhibition on the official website, which mentioned:

Dr. Lisa Su shares the AMD vision to advance the PC experience through next generation mobile and desktop PC innovations. Combining cutting-edge CPUs, GPUs and software, AMD and its ecosystem partners will show breakthrough performance and leadership experiences for gamers, enthusiasts and creators.

This is the first official AMD confirmation that the COMPUTEX 2022 event will involve a new generation of products, not just existing ones. It is not surprising to release new products at COMPUTEX. AMD launched the Radeon RX 6000M series at COMPUTEX 2021 last year, and also showed the FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 1.0. There is news that FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is likely to be part of AMD’s COMPUTEX event this year.

Although it has long been rumored that AMD may show or even release a new generation of Ryzen 7000 series CPUs at COMPUTEX 2022, which is the Zen 4 architecture desktop processor codenamed Raphael, there has been no official news.

A similar situation has occurred with the Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs based on the RDNA 3 architecture, and with Nvidia likely to release the GeForce RTX 40 series ahead of schedule, it seems more necessary for AMD to use the opportunity of COMPUTEX 2022 to promote new graphics cards.
