Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC version may encounter technical problems

“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart,” developed by Sony’s first-party studio Insomniac Games, was one of the cornerstone titles for the PlayStation 5 and launched for the console on June 11, 2021. The PC version is slated for release on July 26 and will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

As the launch approaches, Nixxes Software, responsible for the PC port of “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart,” has confirmed that the game will not initially support AMD graphics cards’ ray tracing technology. Reports suggest that certain technical difficulties may have been encountered, with the game developers collaborating closely with AMD to resolve these as promptly as possible.

The PC version of “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” could be one of the most technologically comprehensive games in terms of graphic technology support, incorporating Insomniac Games’ own Temporal Injection technology, ray tracing ambient occlusion, reflections and shadows, NVIDIA RTX IO/Reflex/DLSS 3/DLAA, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, and Microsoft’s DirectStorage 1.2 among others. These offer a range of graphical quality options tailored to different devices. The game will also support Intel’s XeGTAO, which necessitates the use of a Rui Xuan graphics card.

Players utilizing Sony’s DualSense controller can experience haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects. Moreover, achievements and cloud saves on PC game launchers are supported.
