Qualcomm Announces the S3 Gen 2 Sound Platform Extended Design

Following the unveiling of its new audio platforms, the S5 Gen 2 and S3 Gen 2, last year, Qualcomm aims to facilitate the creation of devices with lower latency and lossless sound quality. It has recently announced the launch of its S3 Gen 2 sound platform expansion, designed in the form of a USB converter or Dongle, emphasizing reduced power consumption and enhanced gaming audio experiences.

The S3 Gen 2 sound platform, conceived as a USB converter or Dongle, incorporates Snapdragon Sound technology. It optimizes Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) audio technology, enabling the transmission of sound with a latency time of less than 20ms, ensuring users enjoy a more instantaneous, delay-free sound performance during gaming.

Moreover, the S3 Gen 2 sound platform integrates LE Audio’s Auracast broadcasting sound technology, compatible with various audio devices such as mobile phones, laptops, or televisions, and supports Bluetooth broadcasting application experiences.

The S3 Gen 2 sound platform likewise supports Qualcomm’s aptX adaptive sound technology and offers 24-bit, 96kHz specification high-resolution Bluetooth audio streaming effects, allowing users to perceive more intricate sound details.

As for gaming applications, Qualcomm avers that like the S5 Gen 2 sound platform, the S3 Gen 2 can leverage the external RF environment to provide higher connection capabilities and dynamic latency adaptation performance. Thus, even if the user’s headphones are far from their gaming console or PC device, they can still maintain clear audibility of in-game sounds or online chat audio.
