Over 110,000 players have placed a Steam Deck order

One of the most popular devices recently is naturally Steam Deck. This first-party PC game handheld launched by Valve is also a very rare product on the market. It fills the desire of many players to play 3A game masterpieces anytime and anywhere, and it is also the main weapon Valve has always hoped to enter the hardware market, so there is news that it will be open immediately after the release of the pre-sale. Steam Deck obtained good pre-sales data.

Since the price is not expensive, starting at only $399, Steam Deck ranks in the top three on Steam’s latest weekly pre-sale list. Of course, this is because even the unit price of Steam Deck is much higher than a game. However, according to Ars Technica, Steam DB analyzed the backend data of the official website, it is found that the total actual sales data of the two versions of Steam Deck has exceeded 110,000 units. Among them, there are 33,000 units of the 256GB version, and 71,600 units of the top 512GB version, most of which are orders from North American players.

Although there are no detailed sales statistics for the initial 64GB version, it is said that this version also has about 10,000 units, and the cheapest version is the least popular version. It seems that players who are willing to buy Steam Deck are not too bad for the money. Most of them are directly buying the top at $649. In fact, the 64GB version is not only too small in capacity, and now hundreds of GB of game files can’t be installed at all, and the storage uses slower eMMC, so everyone is more willing to add money to the higher storage version, but it is normal. In fact, even in terms of cost performance, the Steam Deck this time is quite kind. It is equipped with a customized APU from AMD and an RDNA 2 architecture GPU that can provide 1.6TFlops of performance. It can handle the quasi-smooth operation of many PC masterpieces at 800p resolution, and it also has first-party support for Steam streaming. But Valve said that Windows platform games can be run through Proton, so don’t worry about how many of your Steam game libraries have Linux versions.

Orders can still be placed on Steam Deck, but the fastest delivery time is expected to be Q1 next year, and the 512GB version will not be available until Q3. This is not unpopular for an emerging handheld, and Valve announced that the fastest time to market is in December this year, but no specific date has been announced.
