Opera has integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology into its browser
Opera has added OpenAI’s ChatGPT and ChatSonic technologies to its eponymous browser, following in the footsteps of Microsoft Edge’s integration of the same technology. The feature, called “AI Prompts,” uses generative AI to help users find more content. Users must enable the “AI Prompts” feature in their settings to access the ChatGPT and ChatSonic shortcuts, which appear in the browser’s sidebar and can be used at any time.
The feature allows users to find more content by selecting a specific text, or by generating videos, question-and-answer content, and more. Opera plans to develop a dedicated AI browsing engine based on GPT technology, enabling the browser to offer richer search functions.
Other tech companies, including Microsoft and Google, have also incorporated AI technology into their browsers to integrate with their search functions, and it is expected that more will follow suit in the future to enable users to discover more useful content.
