Nintendo’s new Switch will be released in early 2024

The Nintendo Switch has been on the market for a considerable duration, heralding a timely quest for a successor. Though Nintendo officials have not divulged any details, recent indications suggest a strong likelihood of a release in the initial months of 2024.

As reported by MoneyDJ, PixelArt, the CMOS image sensor manufacturer supplying sensors for JoyCon and components for previous Nintendo consoles such as the Wii and Wii U, alluded in their financial statement that a Japanese gaming console manufacturer, being one of PixelArt’s major clients, plans to launch a long-awaited new device in early next year, expected to bolster Pixart’s operational revenue in the latter half of the year.

While the financial report did not explicitly identify this Japanese console manufacturer, the only Japanese firm that hasn’t released a new console in years is Nintendo. In fact, an earlier financial report from Foxlink, a precision industry company, also hinted at the circumstances of the new Switch gaming machine. It cited that the gaming console assembly business would witness a traditional peak season in the second half of the year, with Nintendo set to introduce a new Switch model in the first quarter of next year.

Of course, Nintendo officials have been largely reticent about the Switch successor. As early as May, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated that no new hardware would be released before the end of this fiscal year, which concludes on March 31, 2024. However, since development kits have already been dispatched to core developers, it’s reasonable to anticipate that further pertinent information will soon come to light.
