Mozilla will close the screenshot server later this year

Earlier, Firefox will close the TestPilot test platform at the end of this month, which is the main test platform for Firefox’s new features. In fact, until now, no one knows why the Mozilla decided to close the test platform. The reason for the speculation may be related to funds. The test platform has produced a number of excellent projects, such as the current Firefox integrated screenshot function, and this shutdown will also affect some of the screenshot features.

The screenshot server is mainly saved for the Firefox user and saved to the cloud. The good news is that the test platform is closed but the Firefox screenshot function will not be turned off. The bad news is that the screenshot server is going to be shut down, which means that the user can only capture the screen and save it to the local and can no longer continue to upload to the Mozilla server.

The Mozilla said that although a small portion of the screenshot server is used for storage, most users are still accustomed to saving screenshots locally or copying them to the clipboard. In addition, users can save screenshots to a server hosted by Firefox. The default save time is two weeks but the user can choose to save for a longer time.

Based on the above changes, the Mozilla decided to close the screenshot server. The closing time may be late in the year but the time is not yet identified.
