Microsoft no longer provides support for Windows 10 v1909 Home, Professional version even the cumulative update brings new bugs

Yesterday, we mentioned that the cumulative update released for Windows 10 v1909 caused many Microsoft 365 login exceptions.

Microsoft has confirmed that this problem is caused by the cumulative update and plans to fix it in the future, but what is more embarrassing is that the consumer series version has stopped supporting it.

Including Home Edition, Professional Edition, Professional Workstation, and Retail Education Edition are all consumer editions, while Enterprise Edition and Batch Education Edition Microsoft will provide additional support.

Microsoft today released the beta update KB5003212 to Windows 10 v1909. In the document, Microsoft reiterated that the consumer version will not receive the update.

Office 365 Home Subscription Edition

Microsoft writes:

Windows 10, version 1909 reached end of service on May 11, 2021 for devices running the Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, Nano Container, and Server SAC editions. After May 11, 2021, these devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10

We will continue to service the following editions: Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise.

The failure of the Microsoft 365 series of applications to log in normally is not only affecting the Windows 10 v1909 version, in fact, subsequent Windows 10 versions also have login exceptions.

Microsoft has already started to fix this problem and release a preview version update, but the version that has been discontinued cannot receive the push and therefore cannot fix the problem.

Microsoft stated in the support document that the consumer version will stop receiving monthly security updates and quality updates after May 11, 2021, and it is recommended that users upgrade to the supported version.

The company will continue to provide support for Windows 10 v1909 Enterprise Edition, Batch Price Education Edition, and Internet of Things Edition, including fixing the above-mentioned abnormal conditions.

According to Microsoft’s instructions, when users log in abnormally, they can try to restart the system. The telemetry data shows that some users can completely solve the login problem after restarting the system.

However, if the login problem still cannot be solved after restarting, then you need to upgrade the subsequent version to be able to receive the repair update. The current preview update has repaired the Microsoft 365 login bug.
