Microsoft did not acquire Sony at a price of $130 billion
Recently, the technology websites circulated news that Microsoft may acquire Sony, and the price may be as high as $130 billion.
The source of the news was originally published by a Spanish website, which claimed to have obtained internal information and then leaked the secrets. Subsequently, the news caused many websites to reprint.
However, this Spanish website did not provide any evidence, only that the reason for Microsoft’s acquisition of Sony was to use the Sony game part to expand the Microsoft game part.
If you are only interested in games from Microsoft and Sony, you may be confused by the news, but this news is purely fabricated and absolutely impossible to be accurate.
Sony may be very tall in the minds of gamers, but you have to know that Sony’s business includes more than just various electronic games.
The company has multiple business units, covering games and network services, streaming music and publishing, movies and TV, communication services, and sensor solutions.
For example, many movies we saw were released by Sony Pictures, and many smartphone cameras and sensors we used were also developed by Sony.
Microsoft has no interest in these businesses at all. Microsoft, a giant company that focuses on operating systems and cloud computing, is still focusing on cloud computing.
It is also impossible to acquire Sony’s game department alone. After all, it is not bad for Sony and the development of Sony’s own game business is very good.
What’s more important is that there are not many games exclusively owned by Sony. Most of the games are on both Sony and Microsoft and even more third-party platforms for users to download.
So might Microsoft spend a lot of money just for Sony’s few exclusive games? Obviously, this is impossible, and Microsoft will never acquire Sony.
