Microsoft applied for a patent for a bracelet device equipped with a light sensor
Microsoft also released a Microsoft Band similar to Xiaomi Mi Band and other products a few years ago. This bracelet was highly praised at the time. At the same time, it has done a good job on the entire platform. It integrated with Windows Phone, iOS, and Android smartphones through a Bluetooth connection.
However, after the Microsoft Band 2 that was released at the same time as the Lumia 950 series, this series was aborn by Microsoft. Many users began to reflect on whether they liked the product too much, so Microsoft cut this series.
Fortunately, according to the latest Microsoft patent application currently announced, the Microsoft Band series may be resurrected.
This patent was applied for in November last year, but it was not officially announced until this month. The device shown in this patent is a smart bracelet. The main content of the patent application is a new sensor built in it.
“The amount of light passing through the skin is highly dependent on the intensity/wavelength of the light, the skin tone of the wearer, and other parameters like device placement, underlying tissue heterogeneity, etc,” Microsoft noted in the patent filing.
In addition, this bracelet is also equipped with a photo-detector sensor, which can generate health analysis charts by illuminating the skin to obtain relevant data, similar to the health data charts generated by Apple Watch.
For the vast majority of users who do not often go to the hospital for medical examinations, these two functions are still very useful.
