Microsoft adds the Family safety option to Edge Canary Edition

Microsoft just added a new option in the settings of the Edge Canary edition, “Family Safety”. The main purpose of this feature is to allow parents to control what their children do when using the browser, such as preventing them from viewing certain websites.

You can click “Go to the family dashboard” in the Microsoft Edge settings. On this page, you can add your child’s account and set what they can use.

“Family & other users” can set the length of time the child uses the computer, control the applications or games that the child can buy, get reports on the content of the child’s use of the computer, and also support the use of time management between multiple devices.

Of course, this feature requires that both parents and children need to log in to their own Microsoft account, and please note that the restrictions on website access for “Family & other users” in the settings are only valid for the Edge browser.

The feature of this option added in Edge Canary 82.0.456.0 was actually installed as early as last June, but today’s update puts it directly in the settings, which greatly facilitates parents to understand and use this feature.
