Is EA considering continuing the remake of the “Dead Space” series?

Since its release in January this year, “Dead Space Remake”, developed by EA Motive studio, has received high praise from players. Fans of the series are quite satisfied with this remade game, and game critics have also praised EA’s work.

According to Wccftech, due to the huge success of “Dead Space Remake”, EA recently launched a survey asking fans if they are interested in remakes of “Dead Space 2” and “Dead Space 3”, which were released in 2011 and 2013, respectively. EA’s move seems to indicate that they are at least considering the idea of remaking “Dead Space 2” and “Dead Space 3”.

Recently, Glen Schofield, the creator of “Dead Space”, specifically thanked the EA Motive studio for “faithfully” remaking the game and expressed regret for not participating in the remake work himself. Glen Schofield is currently the CEO of Striking Distance studio, the developer of “The Callisto Protocol”.

“Dead Space Remake” uses the Frostbite engine and was officially released on January 28, 2023, landing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. As a complete remake of the 2008 original “Dead Space”, the higher image quality brings higher hardware requirements. The game developers have optimized the game specifically for current PC and next-generation consoles, further enhancing the horror and immersion in the game through better visual effects and sound effects, while also improving various aspects such as characters, plot, and gameplay from the original.
