Intel discontinued a number of 11th generation Core products
Recently, Intel issued a Product Change Notification (PCN) announcing the discontinuation of numerous 11th-generation Core products, primarily encompassing processors built around the Tiger Lake architecture, including Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Core i9, and Xeon W series. These processors, launched between 2020 and 2021, have been supplanted by Alder Lake and Raptor Lake.
Intel has not eliminated the entire Tiger Lake-H product line, with the primary impact on Tiger Lake-H45, ranging from the Core i5-11260H to the Core i9-11950H, as well as the Xeon W-11855M. However, models such as the 8-core Xeon W-11955M, Core i7-11390H, or Core i5-11320H will continue to be supplied. Intel’s partners can place orders until June 30, 2023, though the specific delivery dates may vary depending on the model. Intel will ship the Core i5-11500H, Core i7-11850H, Core i9-11950H, and Xeon W-11855M until April 26, 2024, while the remaining models’ final shipment date is January 26, 2024.
The 65W 11th generation Core B series has also commenced its End-Of-Life (EOL) phase. These Tiger Lake chips are designed for desktop platforms and can be found in devices such as the NUC 11 Extreme, including the Core i9-11900KB, Core i7-11700B, Core i5-11500B, and Core i3-11100B. As with the Tiger Lake-H chips, customers must place their final orders by June 30, 2023, and Intel will ship products until January 26, 2024.
As for the more familiar Rocket Lake, relevant products have been entering the EOL phase since February 6th of this year. This not only includes the desktop platform’s Rocket Lake-S but also workstation-oriented Xeon W series processors employing the same architecture, as well as compatible Intel 400 and 500 series chipsets.
