AMD appoints Jack Huynh to senior vice president and general manager of Computing and Graphics

AMD announced today that Jack Huynh has been appointed as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Business Group, succeeding the retiring Rick Bergman. The former will report directly to Dr. Lisa Su, President and CEO of AMD, while the latter will remain at AMD in the second quarter to ensure a smooth transition.

Jack Huynh has worked at AMD for over 24 years, holding various leadership positions and possessing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Most recently, he was responsible for the semi-custom business, serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the semi-custom business unit, leading strategic, business, and engineering execution for high-performance custom solutions. Prior to this, Jack Huynh served as Vice President and General Manager, leading end-to-end business execution for AMD’s client PC business unit mobile solutions.

Dr. Lisa Su stated that under Jack Huynh’s leadership, AMD has strengthened its position as a leading provider of game custom solutions in the semi-custom business unit. AMD sees strong long-term growth opportunities in its computing and graphics business, as it combines its high-performance CPU and GPU IP with leading software capabilities to create differentiated solutions in both the foundational gaming charter and broader markets.

Dr. Lisa Su thanked Rick Bergman for his many contributions to AMD’s business during his tenure, as a seasoned professional with over 30 years of industry experience, he has held a series of senior management positions at AMD and is renowned for his outstanding business leadership. In addition, Rick Bergman has also held senior management positions at ATI, S3 Graphics, Synaptics, Texas Instruments, and IBM.
