Google introduces Shop tab on Android TV
Google has announced the addition of a new ‘Shop’ tab to Android TV, aiming to streamline the browsing, purchasing, or viewing of paid-for or rented movie content for users.
Unlike the ‘Discover’ tab, which primarily operates on a recommendation-based user model, the ‘Shop’ will enable users to conveniently purchase or rent movie content from various platforms, eliminating the need to switch between different apps.
Moreover, the ‘Shop’ tab also provides a database feature that, through account synchronization, lists previously purchased or viewed video content on Android TV, Google TV, or YouTube channels, or movies downloaded on Google TV App on smartphones or tablets, for subsequent offline viewing.
The new iteration of the ‘Shop’ tab is set to be launched in the United States and 23 other regions within the upcoming weeks.
