GIGABYTE will release the first Mini-ITX specification A620 motherboard
In the subdued month of April, AMD discreetly unveiled the A620 chipset, offering twelve PCIe lanes, four of which are dedicated PCIe 4.0 lanes designed to interface directly with the CPU, leaving the remaining eight as PCIe 3.0. While its expandability might be perceived as somewhat limited, it adequately satisfies a considerable portion of users, furthermore reducing the cost of assembling an AM5 platform.
The first wave of A620 motherboards on the market had a scarce variety of models, with major manufacturers primarily offering products that adhere to the Micro-ATX standard. Thus far, Asus, MSI, ASRock, and Biostar have not announced the release of Mini-ITX motherboards using the A620 chipset. According to a report by VideoCardz, Gigabyte is set to be the inaugural manufacturer to launch a Mini-ITX A620 motherboard, the corresponding model being UD-A620I-X.
Positioned as an economical motherboard, the UD-A620I-X does not facilitate CPU overclocking and, naturally, PCIe 5.0 support will be absent. However, it might cater to high-wattage CPUs. It is equipped with two DDR5 memory slots, a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, and an NVMe M.2 slot with a heat sink, along with two SATA ports and an integrated Wi-Fi card. It is anticipated to be fitted with a 2.5GbE Ethernet port. Regarding power supply, it necessitates a 24Pin + 8Pin connection for operation.
Understood to be priced under 100 dollars, the UD-A620I-X is expected to hit the market soon, where it’s likely to captivate a section of users.
