Dell Announces Precision 7770/7670 Series Laptops

Dell announced the launch of the Precision 7770/7670 series of laptops, which are designed for workstation users for heavy-duty workloads including VR/AR, AI/ML, complex 3D CAD, creative editing software, and data science applications. Dell says this is the fastest Precision line-up ever and will feature a new Intel Alder Lake-HX processor with a TDP of 55W, up to 16 cores, and equipped with the latest professional graphics, cooling and power technology.

The Precision 7770 series is a product with a 17-inch screen, optional 1080p 60Hz or 2160p 120Hz, supports HDR400, and has a maximum brightness of 500nits, in terms of processors, Intel Core i5 to Core i9 processors are optional, supporting vPro technology; in terms of the graphics card, the highest optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB or RTX A5500 16GB laptop version; the memory is up to 128GB CAMM module DDR5 or 64GB SODIMM version; up to four NVMe PCIe SSDs can be installed, providing 16TB of storage. It provides a wealth of interfaces, including dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI 2.0a+HDMI 2.1 ports, and an RJ-45 Ethernet port, a headphone port, etc. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Precision 7670 series is a product with a 16-inch screen. In addition to the smaller size, the basic configuration is similar to the Precision 7770 series, the processor and graphics card are similar, there is one less M.2 slot in the storage, and the combination of screen resolution and refresh rate has changed.

The Precision 7770/7670 series uses a new CAMM memory module, which reduces the thickness by 57% compared to the previous SODIMM specification. One side can carry 128GB of capacity, which makes the laptop thinner and lighter in design, without sacrificing performance and easier to maintain. Dell said the CAMM module is not a proprietary technology standard and hopes other PC makers will use it.

In addition, the Precision 7770/7670 series introduces recycled carbon fiber and an improved liquid polymer cooling solution for heat dissipation, as well as GORE insulation.
