Crystal Dynamics updates the official website of the “Tomb Raider” series

Crystal Dynamics has recently rejuvenated the official website for the “Tomb Raider” series, inviting users to register with their personal email addresses to stay abreast of the latest updates, hinting at an impending announcement regarding a new installment.

Prior to this, Crystal Dynamics confirmed a collaboration with Amazon Games, a subsidiary of the e-commerce giant, Amazon. The latter is anticipated to helm the distribution of the forthcoming “Tomb Raider” title, ensuring its availability across a multitude of platforms.

The upcoming addition to the “Tomb Raider” series is expected to be crafted using Unreal Engine 5. Dallas Dickinson, the series’ steward, has shed light on the game’s features, elucidating that it will incorporate novel narratives and gameplay experiences, all presented with cinematic panache befitting an action-adventure odyssey. Moreover, Crystal Dynamics has intimated that while the narrative will continue to chronicle the exploits of the iconic protagonist, Lara Croft, it won’t strictly adhere to the narrative foundations laid by its predecessors. This aligns with speculations suggesting a portrayal of Lara in a more mature light in the forthcoming title.

Scot Amos, the head of Crystal Dynamics, articulated that post the studio’s acquisition by Embracer, the unveiling of a new “Tomb Raider” title embodies the studio’s transformational aspirations. Furthermore, he accentuated the pivotal role of their alliance with Amazon Games in actualizing their vision for the expansive “Tomb Raider” universe.
