Capcom Announces Resident Evil 4 Remake sold over 5 million sets worldwide

Today, Capcom announced that the global total sales of Resident Evil 4 Remake have surpassed five million copies across all platforms.

The “Resident Evil 4 Remake” was officially released on March 24th of this year. The original game was released in 2005, with the plot unfolding six years after the “Raccoon City Incident”. The narrative follows Leon Scott Kennedy, who has evolved into a government agent, on his mission to locate the missing daughter of the President, leading him to a destitute village in Europe. Shortly after its global release, Capcom announced that “Resident Evil 4 Remake” sold three million copies in just two days, with worldwide sales exceeding four million copies within two weeks of release. Now, two months later, the sales of “Resident Evil 4 Remake” have increased by an additional one million units.

To date, Capcom‘s “Resident Evil” series has sold over 142 million copies in total. Although Capcom did not specifically compare sales speed, referencing past sales data from “Resident Evil 7”, “Resident Evil 2 Remake”, “Resident Evil 3 Remake”, and “Resident Evil Village”, it seems “Resident Evil 4 Remake” has proven to be one of the fastest-selling titles in the series. In contrast, “Resident Evil 4 Remake” has sold over 5 million copies in less than four months.
