Asus unveils GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition
Previously, ASUS cooperated with radiator manufacturer Noctua to launch the GeForce RTX 3070/3080 Noctua version with Noctua cooling technology. Two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans are embedded in the radiator, and the standard color matching of Noctua is adopted.
This year, ASUS and Noctua joined hands again and announced the launch of GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition, continuing the cooperation between the two parties. ASUS said the new graphics card is based on the RTX 30 series Noctua version. With the combination of the design of the Noctua on the fan and the combination of ASUS’s custom heat chamber, it creates the quietest air-cooled RTX 4080 graphics card on the market.
GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition uses two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans. Engineers have made detailed adjustments to the fin structure, density, and heat pipe layout of the radiator, and optimized for the fan’s airflow characteristics while also taking into account low noise, high thermal performance, and a smooth acoustic signature. To make room for the fan and improve cooling, its thickness has been increased to 4.3 slots. The newer graphics card comes with a dual BIOS that is enabled by default in silent mode to minimize noise.
ASUS provides a larger vapor chamber for the GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition. When the graphics card is running at 320W power consumption, the peak temperature is only 61.7°C, and the noise is kept at the level of the previous generation. In terms of appearance, the new version of the graphics card still uses a custom-made protective cover mainly in brown. There are ASUS and Noctua logos on the front and sides, and there will also be patterns on the full-length alloy back panel, allowing users to coordinate with other Noctua components.
Asus has not yet provided the price and the specific time to market.
