ASUS releases GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition

Last year, ASUS cooperated with the radiator manufacturer Noctua for the first time on the board and launched the GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition with Noctua cooling technology which attracted the attention of many players. After more than half a year, ASUS finally released the second graphics card of the two parties: the GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition.

GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition

Like its predecessors, the GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition uses a four-slot cooling solution with two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans embedded in the radiator and continues the standard Noctua colorway. Asus says the new graphics cards feature a more power-hungry and more powerful GPU but take advantage of the custom heatsink and fan technology, it still provides excellent air-cooled heat dissipation performance and good noise control, and combines heat dissipation and quietness well. It is the quietest product in the same type of graphics card.

ASUS has made changes in the design of the heat sink, using a larger copper base to cover not only the GPU but also the video memory, which can better reduce the temperature of the video memory. Add six heat pipes to transfer heat from the GPU and video memory to the large stack of fins, which are then carried away by two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans.

This card features dual BIOS, clocks at 1785 MHz in game mode and 1815 MHz in OC mode, and offers three DisplayPort 1.4 ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports. Compared to the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080, the GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition runs quieter, with cooler GPU and video memory, according to Asus.

This card runs 4.5 dB(A) less noise, 3°C cooler GPU, and 14°C cooler VRAM at normal auto-speed fan settings. With the fan running at maximum speed, it was 8.6 dB(A) lower, the GPU temperature was 1°C cooler, and the video memory temperature was 12°C cooler. In other fan settings, there will also be varying degrees of decline.

It is not yet known when the GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition will be available and the price, which was previously said to be priced at 1150 euros.
