ASUS has completely taken over the Intel NUC product line

Recently, ASUS proclaimed the formalization of its agreement with Intel, heralding the successful transition of the NUC product line. Pursuant to the accord previously established between the entities, ASUS will assume the mantle of manufacturing, retailing, and supporting Intel’s 10th to 13th generation NUC product line, whilst also conceptualizing and fashioning forthcoming NUC systems.

Earlier declarations from ASUS signaled that, as of September 1, 2023, Intel’s NUC product line has been seamlessly integrated into its esteemed portfolio, with the corresponding web pages being inaugurated. ASUS, effusing optimism, articulated that this formal transition inaugurates its NUC operations, ushering in a plethora of exhilarating prospects for future endeavors. They also remain committed to ensuring a smooth transition for existing NUC patrons. The newly minted “ASUS NUC BU” division aspires to deliver the most impactful edge computing through comprehensive commercial and AIoT solutions, mirroring ASUS’s industry vision. It is understood that the nascent team comprises approximately 150 to 160 members, with plans for expansion on the horizon.

ASUS extends a warm embrace to the members of Intel’s original NUC department joining the new enterprise, believing that these seasoned professionals will augment ASUS’s R&D prowess, especially in the realms of software and cloud computing. ASUS has already secured licenses for hardware system design and software from Intel, fortifying its capabilities further in R&D, logistics, and technical support. This encompasses niches ranging from professional and artificial intelligence programmers to governmental agencies, corporations, and SMEs, as well as use cases in edge computing and industrial applications.

Previous reports intimated that ASUS is gearing up for the ROG NUC, envisioned as a successor to the existing NUC Extreme (codenamed Raptor Canyon), incorporating the impending Meteor Lake processors. Rumors suggest that this avant-garde product will boast a futuristic design aesthetic, replete with an abundance of RGB lighting effects.
