Zoom launched a new function, Intelligent Director
Zoom has cultivated a feature termed “Intelligent Director” for its Zoom Rooms service. Harnessing artificial intelligence and multi-camera capture to detect the faces of participants, this function ensures all individuals are clearly visible during online meetings, presenting them in the most optimal visuals and angles.
Intelligent Director is principally designed for medium to large-scale meeting rooms. Through a multi-camera approach, the tool can frame the faces of up to 16 people participating in a Zoom Room online meeting. Utilizing Zoom’s video artificial intelligence technology, it automatically selects the best audio-visual streaming method. Consequently, even if participants move around or turn their heads, the system continues capturing everyone’s best possible shots, enabling remote attendees to discern all participants in the meeting room more clearly.
This update is an extended innovation of Zoom’s Smart Gallery, which previously allowed for individual standalone visuals for each participant in medium to small-sized meeting rooms during meetings, using a single camera and artificial intelligence technology. The Intelligent Director is an expanded application of this technology, aligning with larger meeting rooms and a greater number of participants.
The Intelligent Director feature is compatible with computers, remotes, and camera products that support Zoom services, including those from Apple, AVer, Dell, HP | Poly, Intel, Logitech, and Yealink. This compatibility facilitates a meeting experience that more closely mirrors reality, engendering a more authentic hybrid meeting experience.
