YouTube announces the launch of a $100 million fund to top YouTube Shorts creators
YouTube announced that it will launch a $100 million creator fund to incentivize content creators who make short videos and publish them on YouTube Shorts.
According to reports, the fund will be launched in the next few months, rewarding thousands of creators every month to challenge TikTok. In March, Shorts was officially launched in the United States. Like TikTok, it allows creators to make soundtracks and add text to their short videos through light editing.
Earlier, Snapchat has disclosed in its financial report that the monthly active users of its short video product Spotlight have exceeded 100 million. As of now, Snapchat is still actively providing creators with $1 million in rewards every day. Facebook’s Reels was also officially launched in August last year and replaced the previous Lasso. As for YouTube, its advantages lie in the accumulated long-term video authors with rich experience, considerable audience size, and massive music agreements.
