Xbox unveiled a panoply of vibrant casings for the Xbox Series X
Xbox’s limited-edition consoles have invariably exuded an aesthetic charm, although they’ve traditionally eluded the grasp of the average gamer. Yet, in a recent proclamation, Xbox unveiled a panoply of vibrant casings for the Xbox Series X, allowing standard editions to undergo a metamorphosis akin to their limited counterparts.
“We’re excited to announce that Xbox Series X Console Wraps are launching this year, and pre-orders start today. We know gamers want to be able to customize their consoles and show support for their favorite games, and we are delivering an option that’s more affordable and more sustainable than purchasing a special edition or limited edition console,” Monique Chatterjee, Xbox’s Senior Design Director, eloquently penned in the official press release.
The triumvirate of cases introduced includes the Starfield design, Arctic Camo, and Mineral Camo. It’s worth noting that Xbox also proffers controllers bearing these identical thematic designs. Within the press release, Xbox accentuated the harmonious pairing of the ‘Starfield’ design case with its previously unveiled ‘Starfield’ themed controller and headphones.
These casings, meticulously crafted, don’t occlude the Xbox Series X’s ventilation ports. Instead, they enshroud merely the quadripartite facets, hence one needn’t harbor apprehensions regarding impeded heat dissipation. Internally, the casings boast a robust slab, while the exterior is sheathed in a sophisticated fabric, and the side in contact with the console is forged from silicone. Minute supporting feet grace its base, ensuring the casing’s steadfastness and optimizing the efficiency of bottom airflow. Conveniently, the casings are affixed using Velcro, facilitating effortless assembly and disassembly.
Concerning pricing, availability, and release territories, the ‘Starfield’ design case carries a tag of $49.99 and is set for a release on October 18 in both North America and Europe. The camouflage casings are priced at $44.99, with a North American release slated for November 10. Concurrently, only the Mineral Camouflage edition will grace European shores. Details about the Arctic Camouflage’s European release remain shrouded in ambiguity. Presently, it remains uncertain whether these aesthetically pleasing casings will extend their availability to other regions.
