Windows 10 v2004 requires 1GB of memory and 16GB of hard disk space
Today, Microsoft is also actively updating relevant supporting documents on the official website. For example, Windows 10 v2004 has requirements for system hardware in the new version.
In terms of hardware requirements, the requirements of all versions of Windows 10 are similar, as long as the computer is not particularly old, you can basically deploy the latest version.
Of course, deployment and use are not the same things. For example, some netizens tested that Windows 10 can still run the system under a minimum of 170MB of memory.
The following are the hardware requirements for Windows 10 v2004
Processor: |
1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster compatible processor or System on a Chip (SoC)
|
RAM: | 1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit |
Hard drive size: | 32GB or larger hard disk
Note: See below under “More information on hard drive space to install or update Windows 10” for more details. |
Graphics card: | Compatible with DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver |
Display: | 800×600 |
Internet Connection: | Internet connectivity is necessary to perform updates and to download and take advantage of some features. Windows 10 Pro in S mode, Windows 10 Pro Education in S mode, Windows 10 Education in S mode, and Windows 10 Enterprise in S mode require an internet connection during the initial device setup (Out of Box Experience or OOBE), as well as either a Microsoft account (MSA) or Azure Activity Directory (AAD) account. Switching a device out of Windows 10 in S mode also requires internet connectivity. Learn more about S mode here. |
To avoid problems during installation or upgrade, users should remove external drives such as removable hard drives and SD cards before the operation.
In previous versions, there was a problem with the system upgrade caused by the connection of an external drive, so it is safe to back up the data and then remove the drive.
