Twitter adds API Pro plan for start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises
After announcing a new version of its API payment plan, preserving it for developer testing and chatbot design, Twitter has recently unveiled an API Pro scheme tailored for start-ups and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), calculated at a cost of $5000 per month.
The API Pro plan sits between the previously announced basic plan, billed at $100 per month, and the bespoke billing of the corporate plan, offering the capability to dispatch 300,000 tweets per month and access to a million searchable tweets.
Moreover, the API Pro plan allows for real-time access to specified filtered content or search capabilities for historical tweets, with a maximum of three applications permitted to access Twitter content via the API.
However, due to the conspicuous price disparity between the ‘Professional’ plan and the basic plan, even though it provides higher access privileges, it still constitutes a non-negligible expenditure for many SMEs. Consequently, whether the ‘Professional’ payment plan will attract more SMEs or start-up users remains to be seen.
