The web version of Google Translate can finally translate image-based text
The mobile version of Google Translate has long been able to use Google Lens technology to translate image-based text content, and Google recently announced that this feature will be brought to the web version of Google Translate.
The usage is basically the same as the mobile version, but the web version mainly relies on uploading images or capturing content to allow the system to automatically recognize the corresponding text in the image.
As for language support, it corresponds to a total of 113 languages and can translate the recognition results into a total of 133 languages. Additionally, the translated text content can be copied or saved for record-keeping.
In recent announcements, Google stated that its language translation function, which combines artificial intelligence and deep learning technology, can already present quite smooth and accurate translation results. It even emphasized that it has more accurate language understanding capabilities than OpenAI’s Whisper large language model.
