The new work of Mafia project is under development
It was revealed earlier this year that 2K Games-owned Hangar 13 studio was working on a new Mafia game following a leadership change. And now, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the release of the “Mafia” series, the officials confirmed that the new work is already in development. As of August 2022, it’s been two decades since the iconic Mafia series made its debut with Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven.
Roman Hladík, general manager of Hangar 13, said: “I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”
The previous news was that the new Mafia game would be developed using the Unreal 5 engine instead of the old engine of the previous game. What is more interesting is that this new game will be a prequel to the existing series.
