The 12th generation Core i9-12900HK benchmarks are exposed, 3% ahead of M1 Max
Recently, Intel 12th-generation Aldar Lake mobile high-end processor Core i9-12900HK’s results on Geekbench have been exposed. From the existing results, the performance of this Core i9-12900HK even exceeds Apple’s latest M1 Max processor.
However, what is different from the previous Geekbench results is that this time the results cannot be verified, only a Geekbench screenshot from Wccftech. Because from now on Geekbench will not release those unreleased processor results, which include ES and QS versions of processors.
In any case, since there is only one screenshot, I am a little skeptical about the best results of this leak. According to this screenshot, the Core i9-12900HK processor has 14 cores and 20 threads, which are 6 hyper-threaded P-Cores and 8 E-Cores. The default basic frequency of the processor is 2.9GHz, and the turbo frequency is still unknown.
The benchmarks score of this Core i9-12900HK is 1851 for single-core and 13256 for multi-core, which is the result obtained under Geekbench 5.4.1 Pro. This result means that Core i9-12900HK is 14.5% ahead of its predecessor, the current Core i9-11980HK, in single-core performance, and 44.8% in multi-core performance.
The M1 Max processor that Apple launched a while ago can be said to have shocked many people, but the Core i9-12900HK is still about 3% ahead of the M1 Max. The latter’s single-core and multi-core scores are 1785 and 12753, respectively. Although it is said that M1 Max will be a processor with a better energy consumption ratio, it is still welcome that Intel can bring such a powerful processor to users.
Intel currently does not have an exact time for when the 12th-generation Aldar Lake mobile processor will be available, but from all sources, it should be at the beginning of next year, or within the first quarter of next year.
