TeamViewer reveals cyber attacks occurred in 2016
TeamViewer, a well-known remote control software, confirmed that the company was attacked by cyber attacks in the fall of 2016 and its internal network was accessed by hackers. At that time, the company hires security experts to evaluate after the cyber attack. The conclusion after the evaluation was that there was no need to disclose it, so the company did not issue an early warning. TeamViewer officially stated that its early warning system had been detected when the hacker group launched an attack, and then the company organized security experts to conduct a major inspection. Its data center and all systems were fully inspected and cleaned up, and the Trojans that were implanted by the hacker group were also cleaned up. About the non-disclosure attack, TeamViewer said that after the security experts and government departments communicated, it was determined that the attack did not cause any security problems.
