Sony increases in the retail price of PlayStation 5 in various countries and regions
PlayStation President and CEO Jim Ryan said that many people around the world are facing a challenging global economic environment, with high inflation and unfavorable currency trends already weighing on consumers in many industries. Given the impact of the current global economic environment on the PlayStation business, the price increase is necessary, and the first priority is to improve the supply situation of the PlayStation 5, in order to allow more players to experience everything that PlayStation 5 has to offer and future developments.

Sales of the PlayStation 5 were strong in the early days, leaving the PlayStation 4 behind in the same period, but sales slowed due to a lack of supply starting in the middle of last year.
