Seagate launches new SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive
Seagate has unveiled its new SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive, catering to the demands for surveillance storage in edge security environments. This innovation incorporates the same Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR) technology found in its Exos X24 24TB model, significantly enhancing storage capacity.
The introduction of the SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive is in response to the burgeoning requirements for artificial intelligence applications, crafted to accommodate the vast data storage needs of numerous corporations. Designed with edge security applications and AI technology integration for network cameras in mind, it facilitates content recording and real-time AI-driven content analysis.
The SkyHawk AI 24TB hard drive is adept at intelligently adjusting storage scale, supporting up to 64 HD video camera streams, and an additional 32 AI streams, making it compatible with AI-enabled network monitoring systems.
Moreover, it is capable of supporting over 10,000 hours of video recording and analysis, catering to the intensive 24/7 security surveillance workloads analyzed through AI, while the Seagate ImagePerfect AI firmware ensures the accuracy of the footage.
With an impressive mean time between failures (MTBF) of up to 2.5 million hours and an annual workload rate of up to 550TB, it offers nearly three times the reliability of standard surveillance hard drives and ten times that of desktop hard drives.
In compatible systems, the drive proactively monitors environmental and usage conditions through the SkyHawk Health Management tool, advising necessary preventative measures when needed.
The SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive comes with a five-year limited warranty and three years of Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Service, now available in the Taiwanese market.
