Samsung will launch a service platform called Samsung Food

During IFA 2023, Samsung heralded the forthcoming launch of a service platform christened “Samsung Food”, which is set to integrate with its smart home appliance range to proffer a tailored culinary experience.

As elucidated by Samsung, the Samsung Food platform is slated for a global debut across 104 countries, with an interface available in eight languages. The service app can be procured via Google Play Store and App Store. In addition to synergizing with Samsung’s smart appliances, there are future plans to link it with data from the Samsung Health service. This integration will facilitate a meticulous analysis of user dietary habits, subsequently offering insights for enhancement and refinement.

Within this platform, Samsung will leverage artificial intelligence to assist users in overseeing their dietary patterns. This encompasses a plethora of features: recipe suggestions, ingredient management, and formulating meal plans, all while utilizing the smart appliances to prepare the dishes.

Currently, devices compatible with the Samsung Food platform include the Family Hub smart refrigerator and the BESPOKE series of smart appliances. These devices, with the aid of artificial intelligence, can discern ingredients housed within the refrigerator. Coupled with a repertoire of 160,000 recipes, users are guided in preparing dishes based on tailored recommendations.

During the culinary process, the Samsung Food platform seamlessly integrates with smart appliances. For instance, it might preheat an oven based on the specific requirements of a recipe, or autonomously adjust oven temperatures and operational durations during cooking. Additionally, for the optimal preservation of ingredients, the platform will automatically modulate refrigerator temperatures based on varying circumstances.
