Samsung unveils multiple monitors at CES 2023
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor has been officially released on July 29, 2022. This monitor is an upgraded version of the 2021 Odyssey G9 monitor, with a screen ratio of 32:9 and a resolution of 5120×1440. Recently, Samsung launched the new Odyssey Neo G9 and Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitors at CES 2023, as well as the new ViewFinity and Smart Monitor monitors.
The new Odyssey Neo G9 monitor model is G95NC, with a screen size of 57 inches, a display ratio of 32:9, and a resolution of 7680×2160, which is equivalent to splicing two 4K displays with a screen ratio of 16:9. G95NC has a refresh rate of 240Hz and a curvature of 1000R. It adopts Mini LED backlight technology and has passed VESA Display HDR 1000 certification. It also supports DP2.1 transmission protocol and can support up to 8K@165Hz. Currently, only AMD’s latest generation of Radeon RX7900 series graphics cards support this protocol.
The Odyssey OLED G9 monitor model is G95SC, the screen size is 49 inches, the display ratio is 32:9, the refresh rate is 240Hz, and the screen response time is 0.1ms. Thanks to the self-illuminating properties of the OLED screen, the dynamic contrast ratio of the G95SC can reach 1,000,000:1. The G95SC is also equipped with Samsung Game Center, which allows users to play games from Xbox or GeForce NOW.
For graphic designers, photographers, and other groups, Samsung also launched the ViewsFinity S9 monitor, model S90PC.
The display has a screen size of 27 inches, a resolution of 5120×2880 can cover 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and has an average Delta E≦2. S90PC also has a built-in color calibration engine, which is convenient for users to perform color calibration.
Samsung also introduced new screen sizes for the smart monitor M8, the 2022 M8 screen size is 32 inches, the new one is 27 inches, and the two screen sizes are 4K resolution. M8 can connect, control and manage hundreds of compatible smart home devices through the built-in SmartThing HUB. Like the Odyssey OLED G9, the M8 also comes with Samsung’s Game Center. The camera of the new M8 monitor has also been upgraded to 2K resolution, which can achieve better shooting results during video conferencing.
