Samsung plans to repair mobile phones with recycled parts to reduce the accumulation of electronic waste
Recently, in addition to announcing a partnership with iFixit, allowing users to repair damaged mobile phones through kits, it is also considering promoting the standardization of mobile phone parts to improve the versatility of parts. Samsung seems to plan to repair mobile phone products through recyclable parts, thereby reducing waste of parts resources and reducing overall costs.
In a related report, Samsung plans to use certified operators to help recover reusable parts from old, partially damaged phones, and to ensure that the quality of the recovered parts is the same as new ones.
For example, when a user wants to repair a phone with a broken screen, if Samsung can provide the option of dismantling and recycling usable screens from other phones of the same style, it can be replaced at a relatively low maintenance cost, and it can also reduce the accumulation of waste electronic parts which will bring greater benefits to Samsung, consumers and the overall environment.
Prior to this, Samsung partnered with iFixit to allow users to purchase repair tools or need replacement parts to complete the repair themselves. At the same time, it is also reported that it plans to standardize the parts used in its mobile phones, thereby increasing the versatility of parts, and reducing the cost of parts production, which can also reduce the accumulation of electronic parts waste.
