Retailer confirms ASUS TUF Gaming Series RTX 4070 SUPER

NVIDIA is set to unveil the GeForce RTX 40 series SUPER graphics cards next month, featuring three new models based on the Ada Lovelace architecture: RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER. These novelties are scheduled to be released in phases, commencing in late January 2024.

As the launch date draws nearer, an increasing array of information about the new products from graphics card manufacturers has been emerging. For instance, ASUS is expected to introduce the Dual series RTX 4070 SUPER graphics card. Recently, netizens have discovered that some retailers have already listed the new ASUS RTX 4070 SUPER graphics cards for sale online. These belong to the TUF Gaming series, specifically the TUF-RTX4070S-O12G-GAMING and TUF-RTX4070S-12G-GAMING models. However, no product images or additional information were provided, likely indicating they are among the first batch to be sold.

According to previously leaked details, as part of the update, NVIDIA seems to have mandated the use of a 12VHWPR power connector on the RTX 4070 SUPER, in contrast to the 8-pin power connector used by the standard RTX 4070. This change may inconvenience some users.

The RTX 4070 SUPER features either the AD104-350 or AD103-175, with the L2 cache increasing from the current RTX 4070’s 36MB to 48MB. The number of CUDA cores has also risen from 5888 to 7168, an increase of approximately 21.7%. The memory capacity remains at 12GB, with a PCB number of PG141-SKU335. The total power consumption of the card is expected to increase slightly by 20W to 220W. Performance improvements are estimated to be around 14%, closely approaching the current RTX 4070 Ti, with rumored suggested retail prices ranging between $599 and $649.

Previous reports have indicated that the RTX 4070 SUPER will be announced at 9 AM Pacific Time on January 8, 2024, and officially go on sale at 6 AM Pacific Time on January 17, 2024.
