Qualcomm will launch its own gaming phone brand with Asus
Recently, Qualcomm announced that it will hold an online Snapdragon Tech Summit on December 1, and there is no doubt that it will release a new generation of flagship chip, Snapdragon 875.
However, Qualcomm also has an unexpected move, that is, they decided to formally enter the smartphone market, to be precise, intend to launch their own brand of smartphones.
According to some media reports, Qualcomm plans to launch its own-brand gaming phones, but since it has no experience in smartphone development, they chose to cooperate with Asus, which has been doing well in gaming phones in recent years.
As Asus itself is an established smartphone manufacturer, there is no problem with Asus being responsible for the hardware of Qualcomm’s first mobile phone. Design and R&D will be solely responsible for Asus, while Qualcomm will only be responsible for software development.
Asus is indeed very proficient in the hardware of gaming phones. For example, the latest ROG Phone 3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chip. In other conventional phones, the frequency of this chip is up to 3.10GHz, and the frequency on this phone is up to 3.4GHz, while the temperature remains at 36 degrees Celsius.
Therefore, Qualcomm’s decision to cooperate with Asus is very sensible. Some media also broke the news that this phone will be available before the end of this year at the earliest, so the current research and development progress is no problem. It is reported that this phone will produce at least 500,000 units. It can be seen that Qualcomm is quite confident in their first phone.
